Cash pickup with Xe lets you send money directly to friends or family, without the need for a bank account.
In this article we'll cover:
- What cash pickup is
- How it works
- Payment options for cash pickup transfers
- Where the money goes
- How the recipient can collect their money
What is cash pickup?
Cash pickup allows Xe users in the UK, Europe, Canada, New Zealand and the USA send money to a recipient quickly and in physical form.
As a sender, you'll pick an amount of money to send. Once the transaction is paid for, we'll generate a PIN number for you. Your friend or family member can then go to a selected destination and pick up the money.
This means you can get your money to whoever you need to get it to in double-quick time, subject to our Terms and Conditions.
How does it work?
Cash pickup is a delivery option available to customers in the UK, Europe, Canada, New Zealand and the USA.
By cutting out bank transfers, we're able to get your money to its destination a lot faster. It also means the person picking up the transfer can receive it in a physical form.
You can select this as your preferred delivery option when you go through your ordinary process to send money.
If you're a new customer, simply select the currencies you'd like to exchange and which country you'd like to send money to.
You'll then have the option to change your transfer from a traditional bank transfer to cash pickup.
If you don't see cash pickup as a delivery option, it means that it's not available in the country you're sending money to. If this is the case, you'll need to choose a different delivery option.
What are my payment options?
You can pay for cash pickup transfers by credit or debit card or by ACH (US customers only).
Where will the money go?
Your recipient will have the option to pick up the money from either one specific store, or any branch of one of our selected partners.
As the sender, you'll be able to make this decision when progressing through the payment process. Depending on the location you're sending to, you may be forced to select one specific store.
How can my recipient pick up the transfer?
Once you've paid for your transfer, you'll see two things.
- Confirmation of where your money is being sent to
- The PIN number your recipient will need to pick up the money
Ensure that your friend or family member has access to the PIN by sharing it with them. Once the transfer has arrived at the store (you'll receive confirmation when it's ready to be collected), they can then pick it up.
Please note: Your recipient will need both a valid form of government-issued ID and the PIN number we provide the sender. Without this information, they won't be able to make the collection.
