What is Interac (e-Transfer)? 

Interac e-Transfer is a funds transfer service between personal and business accounts at participating Canadian banks and other financial institutions.

Who can use this payment method? 

Anyone who is paying Xe in Canadian Dollars (CAD) from a participating Canadian bank account.

Where/who can I send money to using this method? 

We offer multiple currencies as long as the recipient holds a bank account for the currency being sent. The full list can be found here.

How does Interac (e-Transfer) work? 

You can follow these simple steps to pay us via Interac e-Transfer: 

1. Start your money transfer
2. Choose Interac or Bank Transfer as your payment method
3. Once your transfer's confirmed, wait for us to send you your contract note by email. This email contains our bank details, but you don't need to send payment to these details.
4. Instead, to pay with Interac, log into your online banking account
5. Add our Interac e-Transfer email address 
6. Pay for your transfer. Our account is set up for auto-deposit, so you don't need to create a password or security question.
   
    

What are the limits for payments using this method? 

Our limits for Interac are shown below, but it's worth bearing in mind that your bank may have different per transaction or daily limits.

If you want to send more than this, you may want to consider paying in instalments.

 

How long does it take to send money using this method? 

This is a relatively fast payment method. It can take 1 business day to reach us, but it’s often faster. 

Are there any charges for using Interac e-Transfer? 

This is at the discretion of your bank, but it's usually a free service.

How do I add this method to my Xe account? 

These are the relevant email addresses you’ll need, organized by region. 

Please use the email address that corresponds to the region where your Xe account is registered.

For example, if your account is registered to an address in France, use the EU email address. If it’s registered to an address in the USA, use the US email address.
