You can schedule a bank transfer to send on a future date by setting up your transfer as usual and tapping Schedule. The money is taken from your Xe balance on the date you choose, not from a card or bank account.
Scheduled transfers are currently available to personal-account holders in Australia only.
Who can schedule a transfer
You can schedule a transfer if:
- you're signed in to your Xe account
- scheduled transfers are available on your account
- you're sending a bank transfer
- the currency you're sending supports scheduled transfers
Cash pickup, mobile wallet and Xe-to-Xe transfers can't be scheduled.
If the currency you're sending doesn't support scheduled transfers yet, you'll see a message telling you this. You can choose to send your transfer now instead.
How to schedule a transfer
- Start a transfer as usual and tap Schedule.
- Choose a date. The earliest date you can choose is tomorrow, and the latest is usually 90 days ahead. Weekends and bank holidays for your currencies are greyed out.
- Confirm your transfer. You'll see a reminder to make sure you have enough money in your Xe balance before the scheduled date.
Exchange rates and amounts
Your exchange rate isn't locked when you schedule a transfer. It's set when your transfer is processed on the scheduled date. Until then, the app shows an estimate based on today's rate.
This means one of the amounts in your transfer can change. The app labels this amount as "approximately".
| If you fixed the… | The amount that can change is… |
|---|---|
| amount you send | the amount your recipient gets |
| amount your recipient gets | the amount taken from your balance |
How to find your scheduled transfers
You can see your scheduled transfers in:
- Activity, where they show with the status Scheduled
- Scheduled transfers, which is split into Upcoming and Need attention
- Transfer details, which shows the date, amounts, payment method and recipient
If you don't have enough money in your balance
Your transfer is only sent if your Xe balance covers it on the scheduled date. If it doesn't:
- your transfer shows as "Needs funding" and moves to Need attention
- you'll see a message in the app asking you to add funds before the scheduled date, with an Add funds button
- we'll send you a reminder 5 days before the scheduled date
If you don't add funds in time, your transfer is cancelled and no money is sent.

Please note:
- You can cancel at any time before your transfer is processed.
- Cancelling can't be undone.

- If your transfer has already been sent, it can't be cancelled.
