Plaid allows you to securely connect your bank account to Xe.
You'll need to verify your account before you can use it to pay for transfers. The way you verify your account depends on whether you're using a personal or business account.
Bank verification with a personal account
Verifying your personal bank account is fast and secure. Once you've started a transfer and have selected ACH (US) or EFT (Canada) as your payment method, you'll be directed to Plaid. From there, you'll be able to select your banking institution and log in through your bank using your login details.
Once you have successfully logged in to your bank through Plaid, your account will be automatically verified.
Bank verification with a business account
US corporate customers who are unable to add their banking details through Plaid can opt to use micro-deposits instead. Please note that this option is not available for Canadian corporate customers
With micro-deposits, Plaid deposits one or two small amounts into your account to verify that you are the account holder.
Depending on your financial institution, your account will either be verified automatically or manually with a 3-letter code. Once verified, Plaid will reverse the micro-deposits.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Start your transfer and add a new bank account as your payment method.
- Enter your routing number and then your account number carefully when prompted
- Plaid will then send a micro-deposit to your account, which could take one to two business days.
In some cases, Plaid will verify your account details for you immediately after step 2 above, so no further action is required. If you’re prompted to manually verify a code for your micro-deposit, you'll follow the process below.
3-letter code micro-deposit process
- Log into your online banking account via their app or website
- Find the $0.01 deposit that was made into the account that you provided details for previously (step 2 above)
- Click on this deposit/transaction to view the details. The deposit should come through with a description that reads: #XXX <app_name> ACCTVERIFY
- The "XXX" above is where a 3-letter code should be (e.g. #ABC Xe App ACCTVERIFY).
- Once you've found the 3-letter code in the description of the 0.01 deposit, copy the code or write it down for quick access later on.
- Log into your Xe account. You should be prompted to enter the 3-letter code you found earlier in your bank account to complete the connection process.
If verification is successful, you can start sending money with Xe.
