If you're seeing a 'pending' payment in your bank account for an Xe transfer, it means that your bank has approved the payment, but we haven't collected it yet.
Why does the payment show as 'pending'?
When you use your credit or debit card to pay for your transfer, your bank checks that you have enough money to pay for it. They hold the money, and the payment appears as 'pending' until it's fully processed—only then does the money leave your account.
What happens if my transfer wasn’t confirmed?
If your transfer isn’t confirmed and you don’t see it in your Xe account, we won’t collect the payment.
You might still see a ‘pending’ charge in your bank account. Once your bank confirms that the transfer wasn’t successful, they will release the hold on the funds. The pending charge will disappear, and the money will be available in your account again. We recommend contacting your bank to understand why the payment didn’t go through.
I didn’t see a refund in my account
Because the transfer was voided before the money left your account, the transaction was simply reversed. Unlike a refund for a canceled transfer, this means the payment won’t appear as a credited amount—it will just disappear from your pending transactions.
How long do payment reversals take?
Payment reversals take up to 7 business days, depending on your bank. We suggest checking your account during this time to see when the pending charge disappears and your balance updates.
