You can choose the dimension values Business Central adds when it posts Xe fees. Once you save them, every fee journal line uses those values automatically. They only apply to Xe fee postings. Other payments posted to the same general ledger account aren't affected.
You'll need to do this if your fee ledger account has mandatory dimensions. Until you set a value, you can't confirm a contract that includes a fee.
Before you start
In Business Central, make sure you've set up:
- the general ledger account you want to post Xe fees to
- the dimensions for that account
How to set dimension values for fees
- In Business Central, open Xe Money Transfer Settings.
- Go to the Xe fee settings section.
- Select the general ledger account you want to post fees to. The account's dimensions appear in the table below.
- Enter a value for each dimension you want added to fee postings.
- Check the details shown for each value are correct.
- Save your settings.
This is a global setting, so the values apply to every Xe fee you post to this account.
Check your fees post correctly
- Create a contract that includes a fee.
- Confirm the contract.
- Preview or post the journal.
- Check the fee line shows the dimension values you set.
If you can't confirm a contract
If your fee ledger account needs a dimension value and you haven't set one, you can't confirm the contract. To fix this:
- Open Xe Money Transfer Settings.
- In Xe fee settings, enter the missing dimension value.
- Save your settings.
- Confirm the contract again.
