Follow the steps below to create payments with a fixed settlement amount in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Step 1: Enable fixed settlement amount payments
Navigate to Xe Payments on the menu
Select Xe Money Transfer Settings
On the Xe Money Transfer Settings page, click on the edit icon
Scroll down to Preferences
Click on the toggle “Enable Fixed Settlement Amount Payments”. This toggle is disabled by default:
Enabling this toggle, will display 5 new fields on the Journal line:
Xe Payment Amount (read only field)
Xe Payment Currency (read only field)
Xe Settlement Amount (read only field)
Xe Settlement Currency (read only field)
Xe Transaction Type (dropdown field)
Step 2 : Configure Vendor to set default Transaction Type (optional)
Follow the steps below if you'd like to set a default Transaction Type for a Vendor. Transaction Type will only show if Enable Fixed Settlement Amount Payments has been toggled on, as described in Step 1.
Choose Vendor.
Update the following fields on the vendor card (by default the vendor is set to Buy):In the Xe Payment Settings section, select a Transaction Type from the dropdown list
Select Buy from the dropdown option if you want the Vendor to receive the amount specified in the Amount Field.
Select Sell from the dropdown option if you want the Vendor to receive the converted value in payment currency of the amount specified in the Amount Field.
Step 3 : Create payments
Follow these steps to create a payment:
In Business Central, click Cash Management, then select Payment Journals.
In Payment Journals, click +New.
Enter a Name and Description for the payment.
Set Balance Account Type to the sending Bank Account.
In Balance Account Number, select the appropriate bank account.
Click outside the pop-up screen to continue.
In the Payment Journals screen, scroll down and click on the payment line you added.
If you want to create a payment to pay a vendor, set the Account Type to Vendor.
To transfer money between bank accounts, set the Account Type to Bank Account.
Depending on the Account Type you choose, select either Bank Account or Vendor from the Account No. dropdown.
Set the Payment Method Code as Xe. This enables the Xe Transaction Type field.
Enter the Amount.
Click on the Xe Transaction Type
Select Buy from the dropdown option if you want the Vendor or Bank Account to receive the amount specified in the Amount Field.
Select Sell from the dropdown if you want the Vendor or Bank Account to receive the payment in the converted currency of the amount entered in the Amount field.
You can also review the Xe Payment, Settlement Currency and Amount in the following fields of the journal line:
Xe Payment Amount
Xe Payment Currency
Xe Settlement Amount
Xe Settlement Currency
Click Xe followed by Pay with Xe.
Click OK to proceed in the Process payments with Xe screen.
You can change the Balance Account and Settlement Method here if you wish, then click OK to save changes.
Review the quote and click Confirm.
View the payment and contract details, then click Continue.
The Settlement Status will change to Awaiting Settlement and the Contract Status to Contract Confirmed.
Note:
- For Settlement or Payment Type transfers, the Recipient Bank Account Currency Code must be the same as the Vendor Foreign Trade Currency Code or the Vendor Foreign Trade Currency code must be LCY.
You can't create a contract if there are two or more payments with the same currency pair but different transaction types (Buy and Sell).
