Follow the steps below to bulk upload vendor & vendor bank information by importing an Excel spreadsheet into Business Central.
 

Export and edit vendor and bank account data

1. Begin by searching for Configuration Packages
    
2. Create a new package by clicking +New if not already created:
   
   
    
3. Enter the Code and Package Name of the Configuration Package:
   
   
    
4. In the Tables section choose the Vendor and the Vendor Bank Account table by expanding the 3 dots in the Table ID column to call out the Objects popup:
   
   
    
5. You can enter a keyword to narrow down the search.
6. Click on the ID link of the Vendor object line to add it:
   
   
7. If you see the pop-up below, you can click No to skip:
   
   
    
8. Add the object Vendor Bank Account:
   
   
    
9. Click Export to Excel. All related fields will be exported into an Excel file, with each table appearing on a separate sheet.
    
   • You can edit the data in Excel and add new rows. New rows will be applied in Business Central when you import the file.
      
10. The No. field in the Vendor table must match the Vendor No. value in the Vendor Bank Account table . This value links the Vendor with its bank account:

11. The Preferred Bank Account Code in the Vendor table should match the Code column in the Vendor Bank Account table:
    
    
    
    
     
12. Save the Excel file before you import it. 

Import Vendor and Bank Account Data

1. Click Import from Excel and choose the file you want to upload
    
2. Click Import to confirm you want to import the data from the Excel sheet:
   
   
    
3. Once imported, click Apply Package:
   
   
    
4. When the data has been applied in Business Central, a pop-up message will summarise the upload status:
   
   
    
5. Click OK
    
6. If there were any errors in the upload, click the link in the No. of Package Errors column to see why.
